Jointly Present:

A TOUR AND DISCUSSION OF THE NEW
WATER WORKS PARK WATER PLANT CONSTRUCTION

Tour: A guided tour of the New Water Works Park Water Plant will be conducted by NTH Consultants, Ltd. and the Detroit Water Team Joint Venture. The program will consist of a walking tour of the construction site, which will include examination of the foundation systems, substructure, and some process equipment construction. The tour will allow you to see firsthand this state-of-the-art construction. Please bring your own hardhat, boots, and safety glasses!

Presentation: Following the tour, dinner will be served at Sinbad’s Fine Restaurant. A presentation and discussion of several of the many design and construction challenges of this landmark project will follow dinner. The presentation will be conducted by members of DWSD and the design oversight team, and will focus on foundation, process, and construction aspects of the new water plant. 

Date: Wednesday, April 26, 2000 

Tour Location: Park and meet in the parking area within the trailer complex at Water Works Park. Water Works Park is located at 10100 E. Jefferson about 1 mile east of the Belle Isle Bridge.

Dinner & Program: Sinbad’s Fine Restaurant located at the foot of St. Clair Ave., two blocks east of Water Works Park.

Agenda: 

4:15 pm Tour of Site
5:30 pm Cash Bar (at Sinbad’s Restaurant)
6:15 pm Dinner
7:00 pm Program (Program Conclusion at 8pm)

Cost: $26 per person for dinner (prepaid) - Register by April 19, 2000
